On September 25, the second edition of the Morex Custom Contest took place, our motorcycle event which honors the love of beautiful mechanics and the limitless creativity of many enthusiasts.
After a very sunny summer, the weather was erratic throughout the month of September and left us in uncertainty, pouring liters of water over Brittany in the weeks preceding our event. On the morning of the 25th, miraculously, the sun that we expected more appeared and dried the terrace, the lawn and the asphalt in less time than it takes to tell.
This year, we have chosen to completely dedicate our car park in front of the House to a real exhibitors' village as well as to a show that needs a little space... And so it is under a soft autumn sun that this beautiful day begins with the first show trial of our distinguished guest: Kenny Thomas, the great Freestyle motorcycle champion.
Kenny's first show sets the tone and gives us the thrill. Our viewers are in the mood and quite receptive to what's to come: THE contest which will crown a new winner under the eyes of Brice and his sublime Harley-Davidson Sportster totally transformed who puts his title on the line in our caravan Airstream, podium for the occasion.
Like last year, the spectators are there and came in large numbers to listen with pleasure to the fifty or so enthusiasts who came to present their unique machine. For the second time, it is admiring that we listen to the very beautiful stories that accompany these bikes: hours of work, painting, cutting and research to arrive at these unique and totally bespoke pieces. It is a great pleasure to see this crowd gather around this passion that drives us.
The afternoon continues between Kenny's shows, each more daring than the other, and the parade of participants led by Joan, one of the brand's founders who has become a speaker for the occasion. The public strolls among the stands of our exhibitors enjoying a special menu of food concocted by the House team and beers from our partner Lagunitas .
At the end of the afternoon, the verdict falls: it's samuel daon and his Harley 1340 EVO who climbed on the first step of the podium and won the title of most beautiful custom for this second edition. A magnificent machine with an ultra-worked paint and leather details that capsized the hearts of the public and the jury thanks to an irreproachable customization that gives this bike an incredible look.
In second place, Florian Le Roux and his BMW R65 RT Gendarmerie SF unrecognizable, because totally revisited and restored by its owner who gave us explained that the motorcycle had at first completely burned. A beautiful machine with a beautiful story, the kind of project that touches us at Morex .
Finally, it's Thierry Quedillac who climbs on the third step of the podium with one of his preparations: a very beautiful Triumph 6T from 1954 which has not aged a bit. Its owner, who came with two very beautiful motorbikes, knows them by heart down to the smallest detail and seduced us with the beauty of his machines, but also with their history which leaves no one indifferent since one of them would have belonged to a actress in the 70s and the second is the one he married a few years ago.
It is by a beautiful concert that its ended this magnificent day in style with the arrival of the members of Ronnie Bonneville and tea Roosters who for the second time set fire to our terrace. A very beautiful event that once again leaves a mark indelible and great memories for the team Morex …
